It's been a little while since I posted pictures of my awesome nephew Jacob. He's growing up pretty dang fast, and even though I'm not a kid person, I think he's pretty dang cute too.
His future is so bright that he has to wear (his Dad's) shades.
For Christmas he got a sandbox from Grandpa, which he apparently loves. My sister appreciates it since it's a fun place for him to play and burn off little kid energy, but as she told me the other day on the phone "there is sand EVERYWHERE". I had to laugh. And laugh.

Hello Alycia and John, I've been absent far too long. Look at how fast the little guy is growing! This means my rate of aging is at least as exponential, which is frightening to say the least. Sand boxes are fantastic. One of my kids decided to eat sand which I was unaware of until a diaper change revealed the gritty truth. No wonder the sandbox level was going down.
I was also sorry to hear of your pet fish passing away. We lost our koi in the pond this summer to tragic circumstances--raccoons. All I could find of her was fish scales everywhere. We'd had her for over 13 years and even though she was in the pond outside, we were attached to her, too. I don'twannathinkaboutthepain associated with losing my canine companions.
I hope you two have a great weekend, the snow is starting to melt here. Won't be long now.
What a cutie! He is super cool in those glasses. I remember the days of sandboxes when my son was young. That sand does get into everything!
